Positioned between Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens, this bright store’s offerings reflect the eclectic tastes of local inhabitants who sell their wares, along with owner Annick Biebuyck’s own discoveries from weekly antiquing excursions. A glass, crystal and jewelry proprietor for 15 years in Cannes, Biebuyck is liable to top her late 19th-century Regency-style sideboards, modern Danish tables and Lane cedar chests with everything from ponderous Daum glass vessels to wooden tribal sculptures. The daughter of a professor of anthropology, she professes her passions to be Art Deco, Art Nouveau and ethnic objects, a fondness that is reflected in a variety of New Guinean ritual objects, Mexican terracotta masks and ethnic headdresses. Art—much of it contemporary—and mirrors hang on the walls, framing the object-saturated space, and for the accessory-conscious there are shelves upon shelves of glistening jewelry.
