Aged boomers longing for the days of Roy Rogers and Big Apple Ranch members looking to give their line-dancing duds a kick in the pants come together at the city's biggest little Old West emporium. Realizing the need for an authentic Western-wear store in Gotham, Montana-ranch transplant and antiques dealer Merv Bendewald founded the shop in 1988. Today, his widow Holly oversees a network of pickers who send her fab finds from the Southwest and beyond. The half-vintage, half-new stock ranges from leather belts and boots to oversized tooled-metal buckles to Western-style shirts. If that's a look that sounds familiar, it should be: The store has served as an inspiration for numerous top designers who have incorporated the styling into their runway shows.
Kids will get corralled in the kid's corner, which has tot-sized boots and clothes, as well as games and toys.
