When Aaron Black became tired of seeing the same suit silhouettes at many major design houses, he decided to set up shop and do things his own way. The London-born former art student specializes in bespoke men’s and women’s suits and shirts that are all handmade in New York. Of course, these pieces will cost you a pretty penny. A bespoke suit, crafted from some of the finest fabrics, like Dormeuil and Holland & Sherry, costs about $3,500. After several rounds of fittings in the quirky, white-subway-tiled boutique, clients can pick up their finished pieces in three to four weeks. In the meantime, shop Black's selection of limited-edition shirts (he only makes seven of each), handmade ties, and handmade shoes and hats. Unisex day-to-night pajama suits, something of a White Chalk signature, are also on sale for $450. And for smaller additions to your ensemble, try Heidi Gardner skull cuff links and tuxedo studs, or, for an unusually playful touch, Lego-adorned cuff links and tie clips.
