After graduating from Parsons School of Design, owner Andrea Nordloh envisioned herself in the fashion industry. Instead, a hobby in floral arranging led her to open this business in 1997 then settle into her present digs circa 2005. Small but cheerful, her small space is outfitted with orange walls and not much else but rows upon rows of flowers. Surprisingly, she claims Thanksgiving—not Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day—as her most lucrative holiday. In autumn, the blistery weather finds her favoring rich, deep colors and rougher textures often arranged in a hollowed-out gourd with berries. Early spring, in contrast, means bright greens, purples, and pinks with lady's-slipper orchids or the exotic protea flower from New Zealand. Even though Nordloh imports her raw materials from Australia, France, Italy, and Thailand, a classic bouquet of locally grown red roses is her biggest crowd pleaser.
