Any New Yorker who cooks will tell you that this gourmet-food store also offers an unbeatable selection of cookware and kitchen gizmos, and at highly competitive prices. We challenge you to find a better selection of coffeepots—or blenders or pepper mills—anywhere else.

They know what's best, they have almost everything you want in stock and their prices are unbeatable, so Zabar's is generally where I go for appliances - unless I find the item on e-bay for less. The staff can always find someone who'll know which toaster works best and where to find the sternum for the fondue set. Their prices are discounted, so there's no reason to buy at department stores. They'll take returns and give you a store credit. Even for expensive espresso machines, this is your best bet.

Zabar's is a state of mind.A most unusual Store.A Deli,Market,a nosherie,a kitchen utensil store,and bakery all rolled into one.Limos from the tristate area double park outside while its passengers run in to get a piece of nice Lox,or a Challah,some cheese, a bit of Halvah... you get the idea.Get there early for your Yom-Kippur supplies.. Heck get there early anytime. It gets crowded.
