M & M Smith

Renaissance men: Twin brother artists Morgan and Marvin Smith moved to Harlem from Kentucky in 1933, setting up a photo studio next door to the Apollo Theatre. For the next 50 years, they worked in painting and photography, drawing luminaries to their studio such as Duke Ellington, Eartha Kitt, W.E.B. Dubois, and Langston Hughes.
