VICTORIA

"I have always wanted to do something outrageous, and I've always had music in me, I have always loved to dance -- I would get on the tables at night clubs all the time, but I never really considered making a career of it… It just wasn't sensible."

Belly dancing is her passion and she has been studying for two years; it started merely as fun, but gradually she got more into the artistry of it all and took instruction. "I must have been an Arab in my past life," she says enthusiastically.

Victoria has been attending classes at the Broadway Dance Center on West 54th Street and is also learning hip-hop moves and rap. "I am the only white person in the class but it's really, really fun! I LOVE Jay Z, and I really like Nelly -- I think Eminem is just so cool … They have so much energy and the beats are great. It's the type of music I want to make -- but with an Arabic flavour."

Victoria is sharing an apartment in the Murray Hill area of Manhattan with three Harvard University graduates. "They are all frightfully clever." Victoria has a few English friends and acquaintances in New York, mainly bankers and other society people. She has been taken under the wing of Lucy and Alice Sykes.
