2002: A Space Odyssey
Solaris—whether you're talking about the 1972 original or the new remake—is one weird movie. This time around, the outer-space thriller, in which a malicious planet (?!) plays games with a crew's fragile psyches by re-creating their deceased loved ones, is directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars George Clooney and Natascha (Surviving Picasso) McElhrone. Somewhat confused after a screening, we turned to the film's lovely heroine for answers. "I don't know what everything means," we were relieved to hear McElhone say. "In the end, I think what Steven wanted to do was raise a bunch of interesting questions about fate and about love, and then let the audience decide."
