French documentarian Christophe
de Ponfilly followed Afghan resistance hero Ahmed Shah Massoud numerous
times, and offers a broad portrait of the man, seen while fighting
both the Soviets and, later, the Taliban. But de Ponfilly's footage
seems too abbreviated (and doting) to give much insight into Massoud.
What we're left with are some indelible images of Afghanistan, and
