Crusading activist lawyer Sandra Bullock goes to work for philandering, vapid developer Hugh Grant, and the two run circles around each another while slowly realizing they're in love. Wafer-thin romantic comedy doesn't have a surprising bone in its body but benefits from Grant's innocuously slimy charm, some occasionally witty dialogue, and nice New York views.
