This understated modern musical stars Glen Hansard (the lead singer of the Irish group The Frames and one of the stars of Alan Parker's 1991 film, The Commitments) as a street musician who embarks on a sweet love affair with a Czech immigrant he meets while performing. John Carney (Hansard's bandmate and a fledgling filmmaker) directs.
