It’s hard to know whom to love more: Francine Alfontent, who somehow managed to give birth this June on the East Broadway F-train platform (she and her husband, Max, were on their way to Bellevue), or the bystanders who came to the couple’s aid. As the Daily News reported, “a nurse on her way to work got off the train and began comforting Francine. A businessman put his briefcase under her head as a pillow. One man ran up to the street to guide paramedics and firemen to Francine. Several others gave up articles of clothing for her to rest on.” The couple named their baby daughter Soleil.
