I can’t recall a single instance in which we were told to write something nice about someone specifically because a higher-up at News Corp. wanted that. And that whole Rupert sending items or tips down? That’s mostly conjecture. You never really felt like you were part of an evil-empire-type thing. Sure, you know who people’s friends are, and you’re aware of that. Wait, I think one time we were told, years ago, “Go easy on Anna Wintour.”
