After a decade of declining traffic fatalities, 291 New Yorkers died in car crashes between July 2011 and June 2012, a 23% increase over the previous year. The NYPD doesn’t release any one report containing victims’ names and accident locations, but New York was able to determine 243 of those locations (see pins) and identify 101 of those killed (see numbered pins).
