Is Corcoran staging a retreat from the East End? Hamptons brokers can’t stop talking about rumors that Corcoran was shuttering some Hamptons offices. Meanwhile, rival Prudential Douglas Elliman’s CEO Dottie Herman is said to have rendezvoused a month ago with sixteen of Corcoran’s area agents who were looking for jobs. Corcoran CEO Pam Liebman says that it’s all a big misunderstanding—it has two Sag Harbor offices and is just consolidating them into one, and while the Shelter Island office is no more, the agents there aren’t abandoning the isle, just “going virtual” (read: working from home). “We look to streamline operations where we have an opportunity.”
