Protests over New School president Bob Kerrey’s choice of John McCain to speak at commencement have spread to Kerrey’s Facebook page (sample complaint: “WHY?”). Kerrey created his Facebook profile to connect with students. More surprisingly, he joined the “Cock-blocker” (i.e., a guy who hinders another’s chances with a coed) user group, jokingly dedicated to Kerrey’s supposed romance-thwarting, after he saw a flyer that called him one. Says Kerrey, “As I understand the term, a president of a university who’s doing his job should be a cockblocker.”
