Fancy beach-style retailer Calypso’s new PR man is getting his calls taken a lot more quickly than your average flack’s pitches. He happens to be named Richard Johnson—just like the tall, blond longtime master of “Page Six”—a coincidence that has its downside as well. “I wanted to take my girlfriend to La Esquina the other night, but they wouldn’t take my reservation; the guy told me they don’t want media people,’’ says the ex-model, who’s also tall and blond. He has also gotten a slew of misdirected juicy e-mails. “Sometimes I take the time to respond and say, ‘Hey, you’ve got the wrong guy,’ but other times I just delete them.’’ He has seen looks of disappointment when he attends events he has RSVP’d to. “When people see my credit card, they are always asking me what’s the latest with Angelina and Brad. I don’t try to pretend, because I know the one time I fake it, it will come back to haunt me.’’ “Page Six” ’s Johnson was nonplussed: “As long as he doesn’t start his own gossip column.’’ He adds that he doesn't understand the other Johnson's La Esquina problem, since he's been invited there before by its owner, Serge Becker.
