Attorney-General candidate Jeanine Pirro is apparently not Hamptons famous. Seeking to escape overclass hoi polloi at the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge on July 22, she tried to join Brooke Shields and Janice Dickinson in the VIP tent. But security wouldn’t let her in. “Pirro was stunned that nobody recognized her,” says a witness. “She had two young male staffers—both wearing suits and American-flag lapel pins—trying to explain to the security guard who she was.” Pirro’s handlers eventually managed to talk her into getting a security wristband from an apologetic staffer. “Jeanine didn’t mind waiting for a bracelet—she was just hoping it had diamonds,” jokes a Pirro spokesman.
