Is the Lower East Side ready for Daniel Boulud’s $32 burger? The chef’s effort to open a restaurant on Bowery and 4th Street was thwarted last summer by Community Board 2, which didn’t support his getting a liquor license, but the tenacious toque appears to have found another space nearby. Industry sources say Boulud is in negotiations for a space in one of the Avalon Chrystie Place buildings on Bowery and 1st Street. A Boulud spokesperson confirmed he’s been looking in the area, but would only say, “We will announce it when a deal is done.”
