This fall’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was moved up two days to avoid a head-on collision with Rosh Hashanah—shows are set to end by 3 p.m. on September 12 so observant participants and attendees can head to synagogue for Erev (night-before) services—but Donna Karan’s still going to be frazzled. Her Donna Karan Collection showing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on the 12th at the Stephan Weiss Studio. “I have to leave— I can’t believe it—the day of the collection show,” she said last week at her downtown Urban Zen boutique. “I’m doing Rosh Hashanah in Israel for the first time. We pushed our show up very early. It’s first thing in the morning, and I’m going to leave right after to try to get to Israel by the next morning. I’ll miss [celebrating] the evening there, but I’ll be there in the morning.”
