Tina Fey, who says she gets her style advice from New York 1’s fashion coverage, came to the CFDA Awards on June 2 looking for pity. Before getting gussied up, she’d been “walking around the Upper West Side in, like, the worst outfit ever: mom sneakers, Capri-length jeans, and a T-shirt that was clinging to my muffin top,” she said. “I was like, ‘I have turned into such a hideous, unkempt mother. I am going to kill myself.’” Fey was in Ralph Lauren for the party, but she said she’d be back in her Capris in hours. “When you’re at home with your kid, you have to wear stuff that can just get ruined,” she said. “So you have to wear Capris. Because I am officially too old for shorts.” What qualifies as too old? “The official age cutoff for shorts is 7. I saw it on the British What Not to Wear.”
