Sarah Horne talked to the Today show co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb at the American Cancer Society’s “Mother of the Year” award luncheon.
Why do you always seem to be drinking in the morning on Today?
HK: It’s a joke. The producers just keep coming up with ways of getting us to drink, it’s become our thing. It’s like a nonstop party from ten to eleven.
KLG: Well, I’m drunk when I get there, so I don’t really see what the big deal is.
What do you make of the news that the Rainbow Room might convert to office space?
KLG: I think that’s a terrible idea.
HK: What we need to do is move our show there and have a live audience.
You were once honored at this same event as Mother of the Year. What did your kids make of that?
KLG: At the time, I went home and said, “Well, they want me to be Mother of the Year,” and my kids just looked at me and said, “Why?”
