Will Shake Shack open in Central Park next? Danny Meyer’s burger empire is interested in opening an outpost at Mineral Springs near Sheep Meadow or at Bethesda Terrace. The Parks Department has issued requests for proposals for both locations; Meyer, said a spokesperson, is “reviewing them.” Meyer’s also vying, against everyone from Trump to Cipriani, for the Tavern on the Green space.

Update: Union Square Hospitality Group president David Swinghamer tells us that they’ve passed on the request for proposals.
