Bennett Marcus spoke to Serena Williams and Selita Ebanks at the sixth annual spring dance for Friends of New Yorkers for Children on April 15.
Did either of you get stuck standing at the post office with your tax return today?
SERENA WILLIAMS: No, no. We’re pretty organized. We file early.
SELITA EBANKS: We have people. Everybody can have people. Did you see the commercial?
Will either of you have to pay more if Obama raises taxes on the wealthy?
SW: [Raises eyebrows.] Um, we’re really happy with the presidency right now. [Laughs.]
SE: Yes. [Laughs.]
SW: All right?
SE: You’re trying to set us up.
Are you going to Andy Roddick’s wedding?
SW: If I go, I have to fly out tomorrow, so we’ll see. He’s going to be mad if I don’t, though. I hope he doesn’t hate me.
