Last year, Deitch Projects and the Haring Foundation reproduced a 1982 Haring mural at Houston and Bowery. In July, Deitch had twin Brazilian artists, who go by Os Gemeos, paint over it. “People stopped and said, ‘Shit, why are you guys erasing this?’” Os Gemeos said. “They were so worried it was going to be an advertisement.”
