Where to get beer for just a buck, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

11 a.m.–5 p.m.: Singas Famous Pizza

Good morning! In addition to dollar beers, this East Village pizza chain offers up individual square pizzas instead of the usual slices, meaning you can adequately prime your stomach for what's to come. Bud Light, Bud Heavy, and Coors are all $1; for high rollers, pitchers are $5.

11 a.m.–5 p.m.: Village Pourhouse

The Village Pourhouse's cab-fare/bar-fare deal is getting most of the attention, but the lunchtime deal isn't too shabby either: A Bud is a dollar with any food order.

5 p.m.–8 p.m.: The Levee

The Levee's daily happy hour knocks a dollar off everything, making Carling Black Label, usually a whopping $2, much more palatable.

6 p.m.–7 p.m.: The Town Tavern

The NYU hang's Fireman Friday — featuring, yep, firemen working the bar — is a true power hour. At 7 p.m., the Bud drafts pop up to a ghastly $3.

6:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.: Pat O'Briens

The proudly partisan Boston bar outdoes the batch: For one Friday-evening hour, beers are a quarter each. Double-fisting galore!

6 p.m.–9 p.m.: Duff's
