Hello, sailors!

Air Demonstrations
Various Venues; Fleetweeknewyork.com
You know what's cool? When planes do flips and tricks and stuff. There are six chances to check out aerial demonstrations in person, in Coney Island on Thursday, Orchard Beach on Friday, Eisenhower Park on Saturday, Rye Playland and Flushing Meadows on Sunday, and Clove Lake Parks, Staten Island on Sunday. Check out the full schedule on Fleetweeknewyork.com, and hold on to your hats. "Highway to the Dangerzone," indeed.

The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum
Twelfth Ave. at 46th St., Pier 86; 212-245-0072
The Intrepid is your one-stop shop for entertainment this week. Continuing in their annual tradition, the ship will host performances from Broadway shows Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Rock of Ages, and Sister Act, among others, from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, with a screening of Top Gun at 7:30 p.m. on their flight deck. From Saturday to Tuesday, you can catch military men competing in a tug-of-war and other battles, performances by the likes of the Sesame Street cast and vocal trio the Manhattan Dolls, and more. Check the official Intrepid schedule for details.

Ship Visitation
Pier 90 and 92; Daily, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; 51st St. at 12th Ave.
Port Authority Marine Terminal; S–Su and M, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; 90 Columbia St., nr. Warren St., Cobble Hill; 718-330-2972
The Sullivans Pier; Daily, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. 455 Front St., at Water St., Staten Island

Maybe you'd like to visit working ships? Piers 90 and 92 in Manhattan, the Sullivans Pier in Staten Island, and the Port Authority Piers in Brooklyn will be open for visitors to explore the vehicles of the sea with free tours. See tall ships like the Juan Sebastian de Elcano (Spain), La Belle Poule (France), and Cisne Branco (Brazil), or battleships like the USS Roosevelt and the USS Wasp. Just don't try to take them for a joy ride! Or do. It might be amusing.

Marine Corps Day in Battery Park
Battery Park; 5/25 from 9 a.m–4 p.m.; Battery Pl. at State St., 212-344-3491
Marines will be out and about Friday, May 25, for outreach, picture-taking, equipment demonstration, and feats of strength. The Quantico Marine Corps Band will also be on hand, playing "contemporary music" (we think that means rock and roll) for your enjoyment.

Military Day in Times Square
Times Square; 5/26 from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; 42nd St. at Broadway
The Quantico Marine Corps Band heads to Times Square on Saturday for a day of tunes. Joining them will be the Navy Band Northeast Jazz Ensemble. The tourists won't know what hit them, and the spot is a good bet if you want to pick up a man or woman in uniform.

Hotel Packages
Maritime Hotel; 363 W. 16th St., at Ninth Ave.; 212-242-4300
Crowne Plaza Times Square; 1605 Broadway, at 49th St.; 212-977-4000

Speaking of picking up men and women in uniform: Are you a sailor? Are you in need of a hotel room for, um, some private time with a new friend? The Maritime Hotel is offering you and yours a $99 hotel room (with drink specials downstairs at La Bottega, with our favorite name for a drink ever, the "Do Ask, Please Tell") just minutes away from the bars on the west side. In Times Square, the Crowne Plaza is offering a three-night "Fleet Week Pride Package," which includes a ride in a Water Taxi among the tall ships and a bus tour to attractions.
