Comedy shows to check out this week.

Are you The Dude?

Brooklyn Comedy Festival
Various Venues; Through 8/24
We all know Brooklyn is a hub for comedy, but now they're proving it with the second annual Brooklyn Comedy Festival, doing due diligence showcasing folks you already know—Hari Kondabolu, Vanessa Bayer, Myq Kaplan, and more—and folks you probably should. Plus, there’s tons of booze and after-parties, and who doesn’t want to party with comedians?

Comedy Juice with Sarah Silverman
Gotham Comedy Club; 8/19 at 9:30 p.m.; 208 W. 23rd St., nr. Seventh Ave.; 212-367-9000
Just announced, and probably sold out before you read this, the weekly comedy show has added none other than the potty-mouthed Silverman to their already stellar lineup of Brody Stevens, Gary Gulman, Eliot Chang, and Grant Cotter. Tickets are just $15.

Ask Me Another With Gilbert Gottfried
The Bell House; 8/20 at 6:30 p.m.; 149 7th St.,nr. Second Ave., Gowanus; 718-643-6510
What sort of things does Gilbert Gottfried know? We'll find out in this taping of the popular comedy game show, to be aired on NPR. Either way we'll get a heavy dose of that voice. With host Ophira Eisenberg.

Lebowski Fest
Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge; 8/22 at 8 p.m.; 624-660 W. 42nd St., nr. Eleventh Ave.; 646-829-0170
Gramercy Theatre; 8/23 at 8 p.m.; 127 E. 23rd St., nr. Lexington Ave.; 212-614-6932
The not-so-underground Coen brothers comedy The Big Lebowski has been the subject of this festival's cult adoration for quite a few years now. Seems New Yorkers can't get enough of bowling. And the Dude.

Awful DJ: The $100 Show
Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre; 8/22 at 7:30 p.m.; 307 W. 26th St., nr. Eighth Ave., Williamsburg
WGA Award–nominated comedy group Awful DJ compiles games and fun and Important Issues like human trafficking, James Cameron's True Lies (and its shining star Jamie Lee Curtis, no doubt), and more into a great effort to give one lucky audience member a $100 bill. Yup.

Oddball Festival
Nikon at Jones Beach Theater; 8/22 at 5p.m.; 1000 Ocean Pkwy., Wantagh, N.Y.
The peripatetic comedy show starring Sarah Silverman, Louis CK, Bill Burr, and more touches down for the second time in our vicinity. How far will you travel for your chuckles?

Bayside! The Musical
Theatre 80; On break until August 27th, Ongoing after.; 80 St. Marks Pl., nr. First Ave.; 212-388-0388
Beginning August 27, the bawdy, unauthorized parody of classic sitcom Saved By the Bell will be guest-starring none other than Dustin Diamond, a.k.a. Screech, who will be doing meet-and-greets after. Also, this play is totally so much better than that upcoming Lifetime movie looks.
