Finger Lakes Riesling Dinner

The restaurant hosts a four-course dinner for 25 guests only, highlighting the chef's affinity for upstate wines and featuring dishes like cold poached chicken breast with warm peanut milk, tomato, green mango, and Sichuan spices, and Arctic char with crispy skin, grilled escarole purée, black sesame, and potato vinaigrette. Singapore Turns 50

This multidisciplinary creative showcase celebrates Singapore's 50th anniversary of independence and includes fashion and design, visual and performing arts, and food. Hit Madison Square Park's Shake Shack beginning September 24 for their Singapore-inspired Onde Onde shake, where the traditional sweet rice dumplings are turned into shake form, or experience Singaporean street food at a hawker pop-up in Flatiron Square. At Bergdorf Goodman, BG restaurant will also offer a menu including lobster laksa and sous-vide Kurobuta pork belly, prepared by guest chef Lee Boon Seng from Singapore's OSIA Bar & Restaurant. D’Artagnan’s Cassoulet War

The popular Southern France casserole of slow-cooked beans and meat takes center stage when chefs including Justin Smillie (Upland), JJ Johnson (Cecil and Minton’s Harlem), Cedric Tovar (Claudette), and more compete with their own versions, with proceeds from the evening benefiting Action Against Hunger.

Luckyrice Moon Festival Cocktail Feast

Luckyrice aims to explore Asian culture through food and drink. At this year's cocktail feast on the picturesque terrace of the Bowery Hotel, try cocktails from Macao Trading Co. like the Bashful Maiden (Bombay Sapphire East, St. Germain, Velvet Falernum, lemon juice, and puréed striped melon) or Nitecap's Adult Soda (Bacardi, Dry Sack sherry, Tahitian vanilla, Saigon cinnamon, root-beer tincture, and seltzer).

New York Coffee Festival

It's getting chilly, which makes it easy to be lazy. Stay warm and perk up at this weekend's coffee festival, featuring tastings, barista competitions, workshops, coffee cocktails, live music, and more. Half of every regular ticket will be donated to Project Waterfall, an initiative that brings clean water to coffee-growing countries.

Grand Central Oyster Frenzy

The iconic restaurant hosts an all-day oyster-shucking bonanza, with a professional shucking championship, chef demonstrations and tastings, a “slurp off” eating contest that’s open to the public, and more.

Taste of Gramercy Neighborhood
9/26 at 11 a.m.; Irving Place, between 17th and 18th streets
In Gramercy they're taking it to the street with the third annual Taste of Gramercy Neighborhood showcasing local businesses including Casa Mono, Gramercy Tavern, Javelina, and Big Daddy's. Net proceeds will go to benefit healthy meal programs at local public schools, and leftover food will be donated to the Bowery Mission.

Brooklyn Pour Craft Beer Festival
Brooklyn Expo Center; 9/26 at 3 p.m.; 72 Noble St., nr. Franklin St., Greenpoint, Brooklyn
More than 65 breweries including Allagash Brewing Company, Dogfish Head, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, Goose Island Beer Company, Keegan Ales, and Smuttynose Brewing Company will be represented at this day of drinking, which also includes life-size beer pong and cornhole. A portion of the proceeds go toward Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue.

Taste of Red Hook
Liberty Warehouse; 9/29 at 6 p.m.; 260 Conover Street, nr. Beard St., Red Hook, Brooklyn
The annual Red Hook fund-raiser benefits a nonprofit that confronts poverty in the community, and for this event more than 50 local vendors have donated dishes. This year also has an inaugural Culinary Committee, featuring Carla Hall, co-host of The Chew and owner of Carla Hall’s Southern Kitchen and Sohui Kim, co-owner of the Good Fork.

The Breslin Downstairs: Traditional Austrian Feast

In conjunction with wine importer Monika Caha, the Breslin plays host to a traditional Austrian Heuriger, a convivial feast that focuses on the new wines of the season. The Austrian menu includes meats, smoked trout, potato dumplings, and, of course, sausages. Lots of sausages.
