Budweiser Made in America Festival
Just a short ride to Philly is this eclectic and patriotic fest that Jay Z built.
When: 8/30–8/31
Where: Ben Franklin Parkway at Eakins Oval, Philadelphia
Hop a Bus For: Kanye, Kings of Leon, Spoon, J.Cole, and Tiesto
California Love: This year the festival simultaneously happens on both coasts, with MVP Kanye West flying to L.A. to perform again on Sunday. Who feels lazy?

Fool's Gold Day Off
Kick it dance-party-style with artists from the Fool's Gold roster, all for under $20 bucks.
When: 9/1
Where:50 Kent Ave., nr. N. 12th Street, Williamsburg
Risk Heatstroke For: Danny Brown, French Montana, and DJ Nick Catchdubs
Responsible Partying: The day-long fest is over at a very reasonable 10 p.m. After all, it's back to work on Tuesday.

NYC Unicycle Festival
A whole weekend of a bicycle built for one.
When: 8/29–8/31
Where: Governors Island
Bring the Family Out For: Jugglers, and unicycle sports including basketball, hockey, and sumo (!).
Balancing Act: Members of the public can test their skills at the Hell on Wheel trials course, which, we hope, is easier than it sounds.

Metropolitan Opera Summer HD Festival
Classic Met operas screened outdoors on the Lincoln Center Plaza, for free. File this under highbrow, brilliant.
When: 8/22–9/1
Where: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Broadway at 62nd St.
Come Early For: Renée Fleming in Dvořák’s Rusalka on 8/28, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale on 8/30, Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin on 9/1, and, well, all of them.
No Need for That Blanket: Chairs are provided.

New York International Salsa Congress Dance & Music Festival
A spicy week of all things salsa.
When: 8/27–9/1
Where: Hilton New York, 1335 Sixth Ave., at 53rd St.
Get Ready to Shake For:Live concerts, workshops, and showcases.
Shimmying on the Seas:There's also a salsa cruise on the lineup, for Labor Day shenanigans outdoors.
