There's Still Time

Unique, last-minute date ideas for Valentine's Day.

Spend your Valentine's Day with puppies at the Westminster Dog Show.

1. Get your blood pumping early with Wake Up & Love, a special Valentine's Day edition of morning dance party Daybreaker, happening at the Highline Ballroom. The event kicks off with a meditation, followed by poetry and other performances, and concludes with dancing, getting you ready for your day.

2. And then in the afternoon get some free stuff when Red Bull Arts presents "The Purge." Artist Bjarne Melgaard will be giving away his personal collection of designer fashion and streetwear free of charge to the public on a first-come, first-served basis for items from Supreme, Maison Margiela, as well as his own new MELGAARD collection. Come with an open mind this is participatory performance art, after all and maybe hit the jackpot.

3. Over at Music Hall of Williamsburg they're throwing a Planned Parenthood benefit concert and dance with acts including Eleanor Friedberger, Parquet Courts's Austin Brown, Frankie Rose, Delicate Steve, and Ian Svenonius.

4. While at Littlefield, Wyatt Cenac’s Night Train tapes two shows for the Seeso channel, all benefiting Choices Women’s Medical Center, CHiPS soup kitchen, and Brooklyn Community Bail Fund. Performers include Seaton Smith, Chanel Ali, Brooks Wheelan, and more.

5. Shake up the dinner-and-a-show format with A Taste of Magic, where tickets include three courses and multiple masters of illusion.

6. And it’s also a good time to snag tickets for Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, before Josh Groban ends his run.

7. Score big points with dog-lovers by taking them to see the Westminster contenders at Madison Square Garden. On Tuesday they're crowning Best in Show, so be ready to cheer loudly for your favorite. Or, really, for all of them. They're all good dogs.

8. Or by cooking even if you have no skills. Neapolitan restaurant Rossopomodoro is offering a foolproof DIY pizza kit delivered by Caviar on Monday and Tuesday, with everything you need to make two delicious pies, down to the rolling pin.

9. There's still tickets left for Unloveable: A Smiths & Morrissey Valentine's Day with tribute band the Sons & Heirs, good for a date or for finding lonely people to commiserate with.

10. Or finish your night with another dance party, when Questlove presents Bowlmance at Brooklyn Bowl, with proceeds benefiting the ACLU.

11. Or this Drake-themed night at Baby's All Right, with an opening set "dedicated to Drake's past, present, and future exes." (Hey, that means Rihanna!) For more ideas check out our Valentine's Playbook.
