Weekend Agenda

Events to catch this weekend, February 8–11.

Act fast for Bridget Everett tickets.

1. You deserve some joyous, Chardonnay-soaked cabaret in your life. Luckily, Bridget Everett has added shows this Thursday and Friday at Joe's Pub that, miraculously, have not totally sold out yet. There may or may not be a cameo by Poppy the dog, but there will most definitely be boobs.

2. Or just soak yourself in booze, at the Brooklyn Craft Spirits Festival this Saturday. It features more than 100 styles of spirits at the Brooklyn Expo Center.

3. The live-event series Pop Up Magazine returns to BAM this Saturday, with contributors including National Geographic photographer David Guttenfelder, podcast hosts Brittany Luse and Eric Eddings of Gimlet’s The Nod, writer Sloane Crosley, and many more.

4. And our critic finds the play [PORTO] to be remarkably accurate when it comes to the urban millennial woman. See for yourself at the Women’s Project Theater, in conjunction with the Bushwick Starr.

5. The official Lunar New Year isn’t until the 16th, but kick off the festivities early at a special themed edition of MoMA PS1’s Night at the Museum this Friday, with DJs, live performances, installations, food and cocktails, and more.

6. And on Saturday, head to the Madison Avenue between 54th and 77th Streets for “A Lunar New Year Celebration: Madison Street to Madison Ave.” Come for the cultural performances; stay for the dog-friendly activities. It is their year, after all.

7. The Winter Olympics kick off on Friday. Feel like you’re there when Curl NYC hosts curling lessons at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park. Clinics happen Wednesdays and Sundays.

8. And the doggies play to win this weekend at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, which begins with this Saturday’s Meet and Compete at Piers 92 and 94.

9. Isaac Mizrahi croons, dishes gossip, and gives away random swag at Café Carlyle, through Sunday.

10. And pay tribute to the Thin White Duke at Celebrating David Bowie at Irving Plaza, with guests including Corey Glover, Joe Sumner, and Bowie band member Mark Plati. Show up in costume for extra points, and happy weekend!
