Events to catch this weekend, April 1719.


Rooftop bar Gallow Green kicks off the season this weekend with their "Herb Festival."   

1. How about we travel back in time? On Saturday, Videology is hosting Blade Runner Bingo. Entrance fee: $10. Schooling everyone with your Blade Runner knowledge? Priceless.

2. This weekend also marks the opening of the Tonya Harding Nancy Kerrigan 1994 Museum. They're throwing a shindig on Saturday to celebrate, 1994-style attire optional.

3. Catch a film or two at the Tribeca Film Festival, and while you're at it, stop off at the Storyscapes immersive films exhibition on Varick Street to customize some tonic at the Bombay Sapphire Custom Tonic Bar. What flavor are you?

4. Speaking of alcohol, celebrate Argentine Malbec on Friday at the Dream Downtown, at the Lights, Camera, Malbec! tasting, lasting six hours. That's a lot of Malbec!

5. Or indulge in other substances when the McKittrick's rooftop bar Gallow Green opens for the season with their Herb Festival, running Saturday through Monday with a lineup of cocktail parties and brunch.

6. Mellow vibes abound at the Brooklyn Folk Festival, running Friday through Sunday at St. Ann's Church and featuring over 30 bands, vocal and instrumental workshops, a square and swing dance, and a Banjo Toss contest.

9. While on Saturday "A Prairie Home Companion" keeps it wholesome in Town Hall.

9. In the world of cabaret, Lena Hall rounds out her run at Café Carlyle on Saturday, and Nellie McKay does the same at 54 Below...

10. And don't forget, music lovers, this Saturday is Record Store Day. Score limited-edition releases at your favorite independent record stores.

11. For Record Store Day, some stores will also be having performances, like Rough Trade. Drop in for their lineup of Lord Raja, Special Guests, Saun & Starr, Howlin' Rain, and Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires. Bring a copy of Kim Gordon's book. She'll also be doing a signing. Happy weekend!
