Weekend Agenda

Events to check out this weekend, July 14–17.

Nas performs at the finale of the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival this weekend.

1. It's the weekend! Time to go outside. This weekend it's easy with the two-day Out in the Streets music festival on Saturday and Sunday, set on an idyllic two acres of land in Ridgewood and featuring bands like the So So Glos, Teen, and Frankie Rose.

2. Or hit up the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, with events happening all weekend. Nas plays the finale on Sunday at Brooklyn Bridge Park, alongside Fabolous, Talib Kweli and Rapsody, DJ Rob Swift, hosts Uncle Ralph McDaniels and Torae, and more.

3. Also at Brooklyn Bridge Park: "The Fence," a 1,250-foot outdoor photography exhibition featuring the work of 40 photographers. Free and open daily.

4. Looking for more art? See a list of our art critic Jerry Saltz's picks, from Vito Acconci to some old-school dystopia. Also now open, "Diane Arbus: In the Beginning" at the Met Breuer.

5. Or head to the Queens Museum for the last weeks of the "Ramones and the Birth of Punk." Hey! Ho! It's time to go! (Sorry.)

6. Why not check out a play? Bess Wohl’s Small Mouth Sounds returns, so more of us can get to know her almost entirely silent characters as they avoid spirituality at a spiritual retreat.

7. Get caught stealing … rays, that is, when Jane's Addiction plays the Coney Island Amphitheater to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their critically acclaimed album Ritual de lo Habitual. Dinosaur Jr. opens.

8. Or catch up on some laughs when comedian and Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer Gabe Liedman takes the stage at the Bell House, with guests John Early and Michelle Collins, most recently of The View.
