Weekend Agenda

Spoooooky events, and otherwise, to check out this weekend, October 29-November 1.

Barking Bad.

1. Halloween has gone to the dogs, but we’re not mad at it. Rather, on Saturday, you’ll find us at the Great PUPkin Festival in Fort Greene, laughing at all the doggy Donald Trumps.

2. On Friday evening, swing by the Refinery Rooftop for a fancy black-tie masquerade ball or hit Sleep No More on Friday and Saturday for its Inferno party, featuring witchcraft, DJs, an open bar, and spooky surprises.

3. Have some sweet treats with your immersive theater at a pastry-chef edition of Queen of the Night’s Halloween shindig.

4. Or do the monster mash at a Puff Daddy–hosted event at Marquee. There’s gonna be so much Ciroc.

5. For the kids (and, let’s face it, adults), the spectacular R. L. Stine will be the ringmaster at the Big Apple Circus on Saturday’s 4:30 p.m. show. Wear your best costume and see if you can scare the scare-master.

6. And if you’re looking for other Halloween activities, check out our Halloween guide. From Day of the Dead activities to chilling rock shows, we’ve got you covered.

7. Switching gears, how about a nice ballet? The innovative Ballet Memphis is at the Joyce Theater through Sunday.

8. And this Sunday is the big NYC Marathon. With it comes some great food specials. Try them all!

9. How about some comedy? On Friday night, Eugene Mirman celebrates the release of his new comedy album, I’m Sorry (You’re Welcome), at the Bell House, with special guests.

10. Or check out Bernie Fest at Cameo Gallery on Sunday, with Janeane Garofolo, Aparna Nancherla, Mike Drucker, Aaron Glaser, and more. We’re not trying to be political, but that’s a great comedy lineup.

11. If you want to catch a play, the Manhattan Theatre Club’s delightful Ripcord is a superior oldster sitcom, starring Holland Taylor and Marylouise Burke.

12. Or get avant garde. On Sunday Performa, the city's performance-art biennial, kicks off its fifteenth edition with a collaboration between dancer David Hallberg and Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli in St. Bart's Church. Happy weekend!
