Your Weekend Agenda

Events to check out this weekend, September 12–14.

Brian Posehn gets animated.

1. Celebrate the Pope of Trash at Lincoln Center, with their 50 Years of John Waters film retrospective.

2. Or on Friday, see Ira Glass perform with dancers Monica Bill Barnes and Anna Bass, combining dance and radio in a way that you've most likely never seen before. (Also, Ira dances. Worth it for that alone.)

3. Also on Friday, there's a chance to see Karen O, the lead singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, perform from her new solo album, Crush Songs, at (le) Poisson Rouge.

4. Or kick the weekend off dance party style with Chromeo and Big Freedia in Central Park.

5. Speaking of dance and Central Park, why not swing through Delacorte Theater on Friday or Saturday for a free performance at the Fall for Dance Festival? Tickets will be distributed on the day of performance.

6. The JBL Live Pier in Hudson River Park has a packed weekend of performances: Phantogram, with special guest Action Bronson on Saturday, and Lorde and Majical Cloudz on Sunday (Lorde will also be at the United Palace later in the week, if you can't get tickets).

7. All weekend in Williamsburg they're talking food at Taste Talks, with talent curated by Danny Bowien and featuring panels, workshops, and more.

8. And they're also having laughs when Brian Posehn swings through the Knitting Factory to delight with his signature deadpan wit. Happy weekend!
