New York Magazine recently referred to you as ‘surprisingly sexy.’ Do you think of yourself that way? “As surprisingly? I don’t know how to take that. [Laughs] I think I’ll take it.” —Keanu Reeves
—Penélope Cruz
In this movie, you had an intimate scene with Alan Arkin, while your co-star Robin Wright got the sex scene with Keanu Reeves. Did you protest? “No, I’m happy with my man.” —Blake Lively
—Penn Badgley
—Marion Cotillard
If you had to invent a secret past for yourself, what would it be? “I always wanted to live in the sixties. There was liberty to experience all aspects of life and all people, and in that cloister, there was no judgment. But now I feel like it’s become abused and everybody’s sort of tainted by sexuality, and nothing’s really sacred.” —Robin Wright
—Julianne Moore
—Joseph Gordon-Levitt
How did you change the screenplay from the way you wrote the book? “I cut off, I restructured it, I lost some characters, I changed some plot. It is also loyally the book, in a sense, the essence of the book, and you certainly would recognize a lot of the words in the scenes, but yet, I felt free. And that was my whole thing about how I made the film, was to feel as free as possible.” —Rebecca Miller, Writer and Director
—Zooey Deschanel
Are you going to dance practice for your upcoming role in Footloose? “Here and there. It’s coming along. It’s pretty rigorous, though. I have two trainers. It’s very intense. I started off in the frustration zone, and now it’s gotten to where I enjoy going every day.” —Chace Crawford
—Billy Crudup
—Daniel Day-Lewis
If you could invent a secret past for yourself, what would it be? “I would run away and join the circus. That’s always a metaphor for joining show business, right? Plus, if you could be on the trapeze, you could fly.” —Zoe Kazan
—Shannon Elizabeth
Have you ever made an ass of yourself trying to meet a famous person? “No. But I went out of my way to, like, date a girl. I’d climb up a tree, or jump in front of a train.” Did she go out with you? “Usually. But not forever.” —John Ventimiglia
—Andrew McCarthy
If you could invent a secret past for yourself, what would it be? “I’d want to be the female Jason Bourne. Because it would be amazing to travel all over the world and kick a little ass and get CIA intelligence. It would be a joy, and you could break in anywhere and see any amazing art you wanted.” —Sophia Bush
—Kevin Zegers
—Patrick Demarchelier
What’s the most extravagant thing you’ve ever bought? “I think the majority of my life is owed to Tom Ford, because between Gucci and YSL, my entire closet is all Tom. Accumulating Tom has cost me a fortune. So I think if I’m still around, he should leave me something in his will.” —Amy Sacco
—Harvey Weinstein & Georgina Chapman
—Olivia Palermo
Who would you want to be if you could live in the past? “I would probably want to be a baseball player in the fifties — a Brooklyn Dodger, the underdog, during that era in the fifties, when they won in ’55. I just think that would be a positive time to be a role model and get to play a kids’ game for a living.” —Ralph Macchio
