The MoMA Film Benefit: A Tribute to Pedro Almodóvar

MoMA. November 15, 2011. By Mara Siegler

You’ve said your mom doesn’t let you buy high-end designer clothing. How come? “She finds it inappropriate because I’m 14, and there are so many years for me to buy a lot of amazing clothes. A lot of times on press tours, I get to wear phenomenal clothes. So she tries to keep me grounded, which is really smart, I guess. I’d do it to my daughter probably.” —CHLOË MORETZ

BLAKE LIVELY

You flew in just for tonight? “Yes, private jets are pleasant.” Do you have any thoughts on Occupy Wall Street? “They have that in Europe, too. I understand everybody, one side and the other. Everybody’s right and everybody’s wrong, and that’s the drama.” —KARL LAGERFELD

EMMA STONE

Any baby name suggestions for Julia Restoin-Roitfeld? “Carine is just my favorite fashion girl, so it’s hard for me not to want [Julia] to name a daughter after her mom. If she’s having a boy, who knows? Something French and amazing.” —RACHEL ROY

ANNA WINTOUR

FELICITY JONES

Have you noticed a change in Penélope Cruz now that she’s a mom? “She’s a more happy person now. She send me e-mails with photos of the baby like, every fifteen days so I can see how he is growing. He has an incredible big mouth.” —PEDRO ALMODÓVAR

TERENCE KOH AND MICHAEL STIPE

MARIO TESTINO

You’ve been labeled an ‘It’ girl. What do you think of the term? “It’s a funny term in itself because it’s ephemeral. It’s really flattering and nice to be called that, but I think something a little more long-term is interesting.” —ELIZABETH OLSEN

FRANCISCO COSTA

SARAH JESSICA PARKER

Any baby name suggestions for Julia Restoin-Roitfeld? “Oh no, you have to see the baby’s face first.” —DIANE VON FURSTENBERG

ELENA ANAYA

JOHN WATERS

If you could transform one thing about yourself, what would it be? “I’d like to be able to sing.” You can’t sing? “I’m terrible. I don’t even sing ‘Happy Birthday’ at parties. I mouth it so as not to humiliate myself.” —OLIVIA WILDE
