   The world learned he could dance thanks to Footloose; this country-tinged project gives Kevin Bacon the chance to show off his singing and guitar-playing chops. He’ll be joined onstage by his brother Michael, an Emmy-winning film and TV composer.

2. 2. Russell Crowe and The Ordinary Fear of God

   May 17 at the Society for Ethical Culture

   Not much has been made public about the Aussie Oscar winner’s new band, but we can say this much: It’s certainly got a better name than his last effort, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts.
