   Indie trendsetter James Murphy’s DFA Records hosts a beat-driven free-for-all in Long Island City to kick off P.S. 1’s popular D.J. series, during which attendees dance under the sun and cool off in the indoor exhibits.

2. 2. Art After Dark: First Fridays

   July 6 at the Guggenheim Museum

   While other museums stay open late or go free on Fridays, the Gugg adds dance-floor mayhem on its spiral ramp to the mix; this installment is D.J.’ed by Motherfucker’s Justine D. and D.C. expat Jacques Renault.
