   After a long tenure with indie band Archers of Loaf, Crooked Fingers front man Bachmann has gone on to craft several spare solo albums full of sweet melodies and wistful instrumentals. He heads to Hoboken after opening for Neko Case at SummerStage.

2. 2. The Black Lips

   July 19 at Maxwell’s

   One of the buzzier non-rap acts to emerge from Atlanta in recent years, this ferocious, hard-rocking foursome (they’ve been banned from more than one Georgia venue) warm up here for their Siren gig next week.
