Where’d this place come from? The venerable Knitting Factory has gone kaput for now, and a temporary “pop-up club” has taken over its place. Luckily, the Gorilla Club has all the makings of a hit (and with an expiration date of July, it won’t get stale). The brainchild of Über-promoter Josh Wood, known for affectionately trashy parties like the old Distortion Disko soirée at Duvet, Gorilla is anchored by a Jonny McGovern–hosted dance party on Saturday nights dubbed “the Big Banana.”
