No Parking
4168 Broadway, nr. 177th St.; 212-923-8700
On Friday and Saturday nights, you can find gays from all over the city at this improbably located D.J. lounge, which sits unobtrusively on a deli-filled block of West 177th Street. Two small stages for performers or impromptu drag shows are generally occupied by a mass of dancers (there’s no real dance floor to speak of, so lovers of pop, Latin beats, and hip-hop make do where they can). Cocktails are of the plastic-cup variety ($7 well drinks, $9 top-shelf), but it’s largely a $5-bottled-beer crowd. Add $5 for cover and another $5 in dollar bills for the impossibly muscled go-go boy in his impossibly ridiculous jockstrap, and it’s still a cheap night out.
