Double Windsor
210 Prospect Park W., at 16th St., Windsor Terrace; 347-725-3479
Windsor Terrace’s most notable watering hole has long been the cops-and-firemen hangout Farrell’s. But what Brooklyn neighborhood would be complete without its own geekily selective craft-beer bar? This past fall, Cake Shop’s Greg Curley and Eric Horowitz and friends transformed a video store into a microbrew haven with fourteen American-focused drafts (Stone, Avery, Sly Fox) and nearly 50 bottle options. The sunny corner saloon is welcoming and elbow-worn, thanks to tables and floors hewn from reclaimed barn wood and a horseshoe bar filled with locals—and maybe even a fireman or two.
