Amity Hall
80 W. 3rd St., nr. Thompson St. 212-677-2290
Sporting the motto “Think Draft, Drink Craft,” this two-story behemoth, a shiny new addition on an otherwise quiet, historic block, claims to possess the largest selection of beers in the city. In addition to the 40 taps, you can pick from 135 bottled beers organized under headings like Esoterics, Ales, Lagers, and Trappists. The large upstairs bar is lined with flat-screen TVs tuned to sports. Given the bar’s dimensions (and its proximity to NYU), the crowd is unsurprisingly collegiate, though the food (highlighted by a selection of cheese- and bacon-stuffed burgers) is decent enough to appeal to those long past graduation.
