Good Beer NYC
422 E. 9th St., nr. Ave. A; 212-677-4836
In his six-month-old shop, David Cichowicz stocks his towering shelves and coolers with more than 600 varieties of domestic-focused beers, weighted toward of-the-moment brands like San Diego’s Green Flash and Florida’s Cigar City, all arranged according to geography. Behind the counter you’ll find a staff that, unlike at some snobbier craft-obsessed shops, will helpfully detail the finer points of the collection of drafts, available by the growler (typically $9 to $15), pint ($6), or tasting flight ($8 for four four-ounce pours), which you can sip right there while snacking on grass-fed hot dogs.
