Maison Premiere
298 Bedford Ave., nr. Grand St., Williamsburg; 347-335-0446
Marry N’awlins’s anything-goes attitude with Brooklyn’s everything-artisanal M.O., and you get Maison Premiere. The oyster house looks like the kind of place where Andrew Jackson or Jean Lafitte might toss back tumblers of Hirsch Reserve bourbon ($10) or quaff a Mason jar of malty Cottrell “Old Yankee Ale” ($6). Even more transporting: the country’s largest absinthe list—twenty by the drip—with green-fairy cocktails like the Bitches Breaux ($10), joining a raw bar with 30 types of oysters ($1 each between 4 and 7 p.m. on weekdays).
