Hot Bird
546 Clinton St., nr. Atlantic Ave., Clinton Hill; 718-230-5800
Maybe it’s the location—a former auto shop on Atlantic Avenue with the original garage doors still intact—that attracts them, but Hot Bird is in no uncertain terms a dude magnet. Which means, in turn, it’s become a magnet for ready-to-flirt females, as well. Whatever your type—bespectacled, bearded, or preppy guys; bedazzled, tattooed, or jorts-clad gals—they’ll likely be here. The mingling comes easy in the lengthy bar and bathroom lines, between outdoor picnic tables, and along the steampunkian band saws that function as easy-to-lean-on drink ledges. Plus, the just-cheap-enough drinks (beers and mixed drinks are $6) keep the awkwardness to a minimum.
