Ginny's Supper Club
310 Lenox Ave., nr. 125th St.; 212-792-9001
Marcus Samuelsson and Andrew Chapman say that this supper club, located beneath Red Rooster, is modeled after old-fashioned speakeasies. But what they’ve really created is a club straight out of Mad Men, with plenty of contemporary touches: chandeliers and deep vinyl booths, an ambitious French-Chinese-soul-food-fusion menu, and a cocktail list packed with both classics (a gingery Harlem Mule is $15) and out-of-the-box concoctions (the Hellfighters, $13, is a nutty blend of gin, lemon, and macadamia orgeat). D.J.’s play Wednesdays through Saturdays to the mix of tourists and locals, many of whom aren’t shy about cutting some rug when the music moves them. Reservations recommended.
