Extra Fancy
302 Metropolitan Ave., nr. Roebling St., Williamsburg; 347-422-0939
When even Allswell is closed, where is a seeker of high-quality, late-night drinks to go in Williamsburg? Since last summer, the answer for cocktail nerds and hard-partying service workers alike has been to head to Extra Fancy, a cocktail bar–cum–citified clam shack run by a pair of Employees Only and Macao Trading Co. vets. In a lively room with a high-energy Afro-punk soundtrack and charming seaside New England décor, bartenders whip up such tipples as the Yeah Ya Did (Rittenhouse rye, Cocchi vermouth and Americano, and bitters; $12) as often as they crack Narragansett tall-boys ($4). The food menu, served until 3:30 a.m., includes booze-friendly snacks like peel-and-eat shrimp ($3 each), plus more substantial bites, like
a fish-cakes roll with housemade tartar sauce ($12).
